Glutz Integration

This is a technical guide for integrating the Glutz access control system with LIKE MAGIC.

Introduction

Additionally, you will learn about the configuration steps needed within the Glutz system, as well as how to set up door access for guests. 1. Door “Opening” mode

Our integration with Glutz offers flexible modes for opening doors:

a) “Slide to unlock”

Guests can conveniently open doors remotely directly through our web application using a "slide to unlock" interface, providing a seamless experience.

b) PIN Code Access

Alternatively, guests can use PIN codes for door access, offering a traditional yet secure method of entry.

c) Hybrid Configuration

Hotels have the flexibility to configure their preferred opening method:

  • Slider Only: Guests access doors exclusively through the web application slider interface

  • Slider + PIN: Guests can choose between using the slider interface or entering a PIN code

Both options allow creating a key card through our Operations Platform and/or our Self-Servicing Kiosk.


2. Preconditions & Setup

To ensure a successful integration, the following preconditions must be met and the setup correctly configured.

API Access: Glutz API (RPC) access must be enabled and properly configured to allow LIKE MAGIC to communicate with the Glutz access control system.


3. Glutz User Management Configuration

A crucial step for the integration is setting up the appropriate user account within Glutz User Management.

Configuration Steps

  1. Access Glutz Login Management: Settings > Logins

  2. Create Integration User: Add a new user with the following details:

    • Email: magic@likemagic.tech

    • Permissions: Ensure the user the Systemverwalter rights

  3. Disable Two-Factor Authentication: Important: Make sure 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) is not active for this user account

  4. Verify User Creation: Confirm that the user has been successfully created and is active

Security Note

While 2FA is disabled for the integration user, this account is specifically designed for API access and follows secure authentication protocols through our integration layer.


4. Share Door Access Setup

After the user account has been configured, we need to set up the door access configuration with LIKE MAGIC.

Required Information

Please share the following information with the LIKE MAGIC team:

a) Public Door Access

  • Identify and share all doors that should be publicly available for guests

  • Provide door identifiers and access configurations

  • Specify any access restrictions or special requirements

b) Readers Configuration

  • Share reader configurations for integration with:

    • Kiosk: Readers that should be connected to the Kiosks

    • Operations Platform: Readers for the staff to create key cards


5. How LIKE MAGIC Interacts with Glutz

Our integration with Glutz follows a dynamic user and access management approach:

User Creation Process

For each reservation, LIKE MAGIC automatically:

  1. Creates a Glutz User with the naming convention: Reservation - {pmsReservationId} - Like Magic

    • Example: Reservation - RES123456 - Like Magic

  2. A 6-digit Code will be generated from LIKE MAGIC if the PIN feature is available.

Dynamic Door Access Management

LIKE MAGIC manages access permissions in real-time:

  • Access Granting: When a reservation becomes In-House, private door access permissions are automatically added to the guest user

  • Access Removal: When a reservation Checked Out, access permissions are dynamically removed

  • Configuration-Based: Access permissions are applied according to the hotel's specific configuration and door setup e.g. public doors.

Real-Time Synchronization

  • Access rights are updated immediately based on reservation status changes

  • The system ensures guests only have access during their valid stay period

  • All changes are logged and tracked for security and auditing purposes
