Introduction

The LIKE MAGIC Self Service Kiosk allows guest information and booking processes to be accessed directly via an iPad. This guide shows you step by step how to set up kiosk mode on an iOS device and prepare the device for optimal use.

In this guide, you will find all the necessary prerequisites, detailed setup steps, and helpful instructions to successfully configure your iPad as a LIKE MAGIC Self Service Kiosk.

1. Set-up Possibilities

There are two ways to set up the LIKE MAGIC Self Service Kiosk:

Option 1 – Via Consultant4IT:
The company Consultant4IT provides complete kiosk solutions – including hardware, setup, IT coordination, and on-site service. After the offer is accepted, Consultant4IT will contact LIKE MAGIC directly to obtain the required kiosk URL.

Option 2 – Self-managed setup:
You can use your own devices and integrate the provided kiosk URL yourself.
The purchase, operation, and configuration of the tablet in kiosk mode (see instructions below) are entirely your responsibility.


2. Preconditions

Make sure you’ve received the KIOSK URL and KIOSK ID from your contact person or the LIKE MAGIC support team.


3. Set-up Guide - Self-managed setup

How to install Kiosk Mode on an iOS (Apple) device

  1. Open the website
    • Use Safari
    • Open the URL: XXX
      (You will receive this URL from your contact person or the support team)
  2. Add to Home Screen
    • Tap the Share icon (square with an arrow pointing up)
    • Select Add to Home Screen
    • Confirm by tapping Add
  3. Open the Web App
    • Find the new app icon on the Home Screen
    • Tap it to launch the web app
  4. Open the Kiosk menu
    • Place four fingers on the screen at the same time
    • Hold for 4 seconds until the Kiosk menu appears
  5. Enter the Kiosk ID
    • Enter the Kiosk ID: XXX
      (You will receive this ID from your contact person or the support team)
    • Confirm the entry
  6. Enable Guided Access

Depending on the setup method, contact your contact person at LIKE MAGIC or Consultant4IT.
