Introduction to Managing Content on the Guest Platform

Prismic is a headless content management system (CMS) that helps content managers to efficiently manage and publish digital content. Not only the digital guest journey, including news, but also the booking engine and all other areas of the guest platform are managed in terms of content.

What can you manage with Prismic?

Manage the content of the digital guest journey and guest platform: The intuitive user interface allows content managers to edit content without technical knowledge. Content can either be saved, scheduled or published directly in real time. Specifically, this applies to:

  • The Booking Engine (IBE): In ‘Property-Specific’ you maintain the content for the Booking Engine. Some parameters, such as the cancellation policy, are also used in the booking overview on the guest platform.
  • The guest directory - MyStay: All content in the guest folder is controlled by ‘Articles’, ‘Links’, ‘Quotes’ and ‘Events’. The most relevant tiles for the stay are the navigation items - these are controlled by the ‘Configuration’ document.
  • Automated Notifications: You use Prismic to control the content of the automated guest messages that are sent during the guest journey.
  • Automated tasks: You use Prismic to control the content of the automated tasks so that your team knows what needs to be done.

How do I navigate in Prismic?

  • Types: Prismic displays in the dropdown menu which content types can all be used for your workspace. You can find the exact descriptions of the types here:
  • Tags: This is used to label the individual ‘properties’, e.g. hotel locations in a document, so that you can filter by them. We recommend using this if you have a multi-property set-up or want to scale in the future and want to keep an overview. You can create your own tags simply by entering a new tag in a document.
  • Multilingual content: At the top right you will find the different languages that are managed by us and can be used. The following languages are currently available for the guest journey:
    • German
    • English
    • French
    • Italian
    • Dutch
  • Media gallery: Here you can upload media and tag them. You can
    • Upload your own icons in ‘.svg’ format in different colours.
    • Add your own images in the ideal size (web display: 1400x900) to the guest platform.
    • Upload your own loading animations (Lottie format) for the loading screen.
  • Search: This allows you to search for documents - Prismic offers you filter options via tags and document titles.
  • Create new documents: You can create documents with the white pencil on a green background in the top right-hand corner. You then have to fill these in from scratch. To make your life easier, you can open two windows on your screen to manage your documents.

Tip: Duplicate documents and adapt relevant content in order to save time.
